Wet Weather Banking Crisis

Only at Toastmasters and West Herts Speakers could you expect to find a combination of talk of wet weather and the banking crisis.  Last week's meeting was a lively event with lots of audience participation which gave it a somewhat Pantomime theme at times and all good fun.

Ront Gerber & Tom Milliken

Our Table Topics Master (and John Craven look-a-like) Tom Milliken was so inspired by the wet weather we've been having that he themed his topics around rain, storms and multiple rainbows.  And we Brits love to talk about the weather so our Table Topic Speakers had little trouble telling us their weather related stories with Ronit Gerber telling us that she had actually found the end of the rainbow was.  Sorry to disappoint but apparently there is no pot of gold there!  However the good news is that Merdedith Bennet was the Best Table Topics Speaker of the evening.

Gwendoline Alderton & Meredith Bennet

We also had a speech Stuart Beattie on the complicated issue of what actually caused the Banking Crisis and seeing as though Stuart is the club's treasurer he knows a thing or two about money so is suitably qualified to tackle such a complex subject.  And Stuart did an outstanding job of clearly explaining how the UK has ended up in this financial mess and most of us now understand this much better since Stuart has done a much better job of everyone we've heard this from in the media so far.  You REALLY DO learn things at West Herts Speakers.

Another fun-filled evening with lots of good banter and laughter.
